As pointed out by Jean-Daniel Dupas, the Control+Command+left/right arrow
keys can be used to move between tabs once selected. Additionally, you can
also use Control+Command+Up/Down arrow keys to navigate up and down the view
hierarchy.

For example, to select a tab in your tabless view, you can select one of its
subviews and press Control-Command-Up or, conversely, select the tab view's
superview and press Control-Command-Down.

As you can imagine, extremely complex view hierarchies (including
splitviews, scrollviews, matrices and their child, sibling and parent views)
can be navigated using these 4 key combinations.
