I’m out in Puget Sound and have a C&C 34+, hull # ZCC34+39C090, deep keel, named Xanax (previous owner was a psychologist).
Not sure if that means I have hull #39 or 90. I’m thinking hull #39 in 1990? After having a C&C 34, hull # 264 for 35 years, we bought the 34+ 7 years ago and enjoy the boat very much, a great sailing boat, sails much different (nicer) than the 34. We love the interior layout and the way that it sails. I single hand it almost all the time. The photos of Savage definitely look like it needs some TLC. I’m not a fan of the traveler in the cockpit, ours is on the cabin top. Looks like the same Harken traveler that I have, I rebuilt mine with new bearing balls. Also not a fan of the red interior, but to each their own. I redid my interior and that was costly. Interior teak looks a little rough, but salvageable. Needs instruments, which is a little pricey. I have a dual cylinder hydraulic backstay, Savage has a manual adjuster. I also have a 3 blade Maxi-Prop. Engine hours could be an issue. During Covid I resealed all the cabin top mounted hardware and the overhead ports, so now a very dry boat. But if the hull/rigging is sound and watertight, with some elbow grease and upgrades, it could be nice. I've seen the boat your talking about on Yachtworld. Before it became Savage it was a Florida boat that I had seen for sale for quite some time. From what I remember it had new standing rigging and a Yanmar with over 7000 hours. This might have been roughly 3 years ago so it hasn't been in the current owners hands for very long. If you google C&C 34+ for sale you'll probably come across the old for sale ads from back when it was a Florida boat. I couldn't be happier having my 30-2 back, Having a good season so far with 170 knots on the log and only 15 or so of those were under engine. It’s been for sale for awhile so I suspect it might be in need of some TLC. Wondering if anyone is familiar with the boat and could comment on it. It’s a 10 hour drive to go see it and it might save a lot of time if it is too far past it’s best before date.
