One of the things I loved about my 40 (and my current boat) was the fact that she was so weatherly and easily-driven. Sailing back to Newport from Cuttyhunk I would often be able to sail when all the Benehuntacats were motoring, or if they sailed they would slowly fade off to leeward and end up motoring while I sailed. And yes, I often took Peregrine (and my current boat) out for a sail and a beer with just the #3 jib set. Andy Currently singlehanding aboard Masquerade south of Atlantic City sailing at 7.5 knots with 14 apparent at 50 degrees and Santana playing loud but tasteful. Heaven!
