Waze is a power hog. Better have your phone plugged in.

I really like my RAM mount for the iPad. A ball is “permanently” attached
(U-bolted) to the top of the pedestal and stays in place. The rest of the
mount attaches to the ball and is stowed down below when not in use. I
typically use my iPad for two things: 1) Navionics when I need to navigate
(sometimes including depth concerns); and 2) the countdown timer for starting
races. Simple but effective.

Subject: Stus-List AIS on Navionics

FWIW, I use WAZE in the car running on my cell phone. It warns of police and
heavy traffic based on so many other WAZE users on the same highway. I expect
it may not be long before boats are shown on other boat's chartplotters as
Navionics users.

I expect they will add a symbal to, "make my vessel show as an AIS target on
other plotters". All the data is being tracked anyway.

Think I'll buy a tablet for the pedestal before buying AIS.
