Once a year is enough. Sometimes I find some whitish mold starting in some out of the way area and that will be cleaned as described then and there so it doesn't grow bigger. But each Spring, I try and wipe down the whole boat before setting out all the cushions. I don't oil the whole boat, I only add oil when I see an area is fading or looks dry, and a little goes a long way. FWIW, The same can of Watco oil has lasted twenty years.
