If he wants it for racing, great.  But there was one at the BC Rendezvous a few 
years ago and it was  spartan, as one would expect from a single purpose race 
boat.  It did not even have deck cleats for dock lines.

So, unless they want it just to race or they intend to fully build out the 
interior, it is probably a bad idea.
