I switched my regular sail cover over to a stack pack and lazy jack system about 5 years ago. I have to say I love it and more importantly the admiral loves it. It makes dropping the sail and covering super easy. There is no struggling with sail ties. I especially appreciate it in snotty weather or when short handed in times when the sail needs to be dropped quickly.
At the time it cost about $100 a foot of boom length through Doyle. I looked at the tide track but like Chuck find the slugs with a clean and lubricated sail track works well. We also put mast gates on. These allow the slugs to be lowered even further. At the end of the season I disconnect the lines and it slides right off and into the back of the truck. It has been one of the better upgrades I have done. Adam Hayden State of Bliss Pictou NS
