If you have a LOT of patience it might not be a bad trip. You can possibly be 
trapped for days or maybe even a week or two at various stops along the way. Do 
keep in mind it is a lot of lee shore with harbors that have tremendously 
dangerous bars across them, so ducking in when it gets bad is not an option. I 
read about a trip from Baja that followed an old clipper route. They had 
something like a Caliber LRC 40 with good tankage and went about 2/3s of the 
way out to Hawaii in a big arc from Baja to Seattle.
Going to or near Hawaii avoids a lot of rocks and hard stuff.
