Warning to squeeze bulb users – these things were never intended to used INSIDE
a boat. I have had more than one of them split and spray me. If used for a
diesel inboard, I would carry a spare and check the condition of it regularly.
They will get sucked flat if the tank pickup is clogged, which is kinda cool ☺

I accomplished the same thing with a squeeze bulb in the line from the tank. It
not only primes the filter bowl but also can quickly pump fuel and air thru the
fuel pump and secondary filter. It will also tell you if there is a blockage
in the pick up line from the tank.

I just checked Parker Racor and learned they now offer the R20P with a built-in
hand operated priming pump and bleeder. Looks pretty cool. You can get it
with a clear bowl or a metal bowl if your insurance requires that.
