Fred;

I didn't see your original post, probably because of the list upgrade. But Stu fixed my problem so I'm back... Yea!

Anyway, Imzadi and Belle are in fresh to brackish water, with occasional trips into the ocean. I have used Ultima SR60 since it was called ACP60 and was "professional" paint. I have to haul and paint every 3 or 4 years. Last time I painted the bottom was before we went to Bermuda for the Americas Cup in 2017, so I suppose it is about time. I'll need to look at the bottom and see.

My base coat of paint is Petit Trinidad Pro, a hard bottom paint highly recommended around here That base coat is black. The first coat of SR60 is blue, and covers the front 1/3 of the hull, the front half of the keel, and the rudder. I call that the "signal coat". I then put on a coat of red SR60. When the red starts to sluff off to the point that you see blotches of blue, it is time to haul and repaint.

Like I said, typically about 3 to 4 years.

The Pamlico River is pretty fresh, and becomes more brackish when we have low rainfall further inland and the tides can bring salt water into the estuary. The further east you go toward the Pamlico Sound and the ocean, the saltier it gets because of the tides. Untillast year I was in a slip where there was about 1/2 to 1 knot of current, and that kept the slime down. I'm now in a side creek with less current, so the slime may be more likely to accumulate.

Before I brought Belle down from Delaware Bay, I used Interlux paint... one of the micron blends. When I go here, it didn't work nearly as well as in the saltier water. So I switched to the Petit ACP60. I'm very happy with that choice.

Still looking for recommendations for bottom paint for use in fresh water.

I’m interested in resistance to slime, durability and ease in application.

Here in Portland, Or we don’t haul out every year, so  lasting over several seasons is important.

I am getting ready to have the bottom repainted. The yard is recommending

Petit Ultima SR 60.

Do any of you have experience or strong opinions about this paint.

Our boat is in fresh water 99 % of the time.

Other paint recommendations would be appreciated.
