Shawn,

That's the bilge discharge.  Not the most ideal spot since it spews on the
pier and anyone walking by.  However, since the 35-1 bilge is so shallow,
it minimizes the length of hose.  Otherwise the hose might fill then drain
back into the sump without discharging any water.  The repeated cycling
back and forth would run down batteries and impose excess wear on the pump.

Touche' does have a Bosworth check valve to minimize cycling.
