I have had issues periodically with i60 depth display readings. This was
alleviated when I ran that transducer cable away from other cables.

If 135° is not abnormal, then we are all in for some serious weather
situations! All kidding aside, I have been going through some interesting
things with my transducer as well . It is not the same, it is electromagnetic,
but it is also airmar. For a period of the summer I was getting readings like
140 150. Then they would change to somewhat more normal. I found that
unplugging the n2k cable, and then plugging it back in again, sometimes helped.
Eventually, about a month ago, the readings came to near normal around a three
degree adjustment on my part. I have no idea what could make it do these crazy
things.

We have the plug. I just don't know what condition the through-hull is in given
we've never removed it and I doubt the previous owner had done it in the past
decade as the boat had been sitting on the hard for the past 5 years prior to
this summer.

Does nobody think the temperature reading is abnormal?

Hi Jeff

If you have the screw on plug for the transducer then you should pull the
transducer. Suprisingly little water comes in with the ST60 speed transducer
removed. Process is 1. Unscrew the retaining ring, 2. Pull out the transducer,
3. Screw on the plug in place of the transducer. Takes less than ten seconds
and not a lot of water comes in.

Transducers foul by this time of year and require cleaning. Likely the boat
has been in the water for a number of months and the water has been warm.

This is pretty normal.

Subject: Stus-List Raymarine ST60+ Speed

We've got an Autohelm package on the boat we purchased in August with ST60+
instruments. The speed sensor reported 0KTS during survey. I cleaned the paddle
and it turned free during survey haulout and the instrument worked fine for
several weeks after that. Then, the speed returned to 0KTS but the temperature
read fine. I casually brushed the paddle while in the water (not brave enough
to pull it out while floating yet, want to try in on the hard first. No idea
when the last time this was done) and it was no help. Last weekend the
temperature suddenly doubled reporting about 135F seawater. I lifted the
instrument and measured resistance across what appears to be a 10k thermistor
and it correlated well to a 10k chart suggesting water temp at the marina was
near the expected value.

Am I jumping the gun to assume the display has gone bad given the temperature
sensor seems like it is working or should I check something else?

Thanks,
Jeff
