Sounds like our starting and ending points will be very similar - I wish I had plastic tanks as you and Kevin do. I'm not looking forward to the day in the future when my aluminum holding tank fails. It's in good condition now, it fits the hull cavity perfectly, and I can't justify the expense and trouble of finding a plastic replacement at this time. Ronco has a good selection of hull shaped tanks but I don't even know where to begin figuring out if one would be a direct replacement for  my aft tank.

Where did you make the hole in the bulkhead to get into the cabin locker? I hate the idea of drilling a bulkhead at all and really want to figure out the ideal location before I move forward.

Julian my 30-2 came or originally equipped with overboard discharge and 3 water tanks. I capped the water lines in the tank under the floor in the starboard cockpit locker, my tank is plastic. The original set up has a vented loop under the top of the sink cabinet, I kept the vented loop there and routed the waste hose which was originally to the seacock to the tank aft. I had to make an ABS pipe to reach the bottom of the tank along with a 90 degree elbow and a barbed fitting to receive the hose. I kept the original vent and I pump out from what was once the aft water deck fill. While I was at it I installed a reducer on the 1 1/2" overboard discharge seacock and installed a deck wash pump.

There is an aluminum fresh water tank beneath the starboard aft locker that has an original manufactures label that calls it a waste tank. My guess is that these boats came from the factory configured with this tank plumbed as either a fresh water tank or a holding tank. I’d like to repurpose my tank as a holding tank. Most of the connections seem straightforward but I’m trying to decide on the best routing for the black water pipe between the head and the tank. Does anybody have a C&C30-2 with the aft tank setup from the factory as a holding tank? If so please provide some details about how the hose is routed from the head, through the bulkhead, to the tank.
