All this talk got me digging through my Yanmar manual.  Under periodic
maintenance, I cannot find anything to do with a timing belt, so hopefully
Rick is right, and it is a chain that will last the life of the engine.
Knock on wood. But, a lot of other interesting stuff popped up, I like if
you're having a little white exhaust, to adjust the valves, or time the
injection. Or drizzle some soapy water through the turbo to clean the fan
blades. Which probably would not be a bad idea. But that does not sound
like something that I am going to tackle, at least not the timing part.
