I guess it depends on the wife. I had a traveller right across the cockpit on our previous boat. It was great for adjusting the sails, but it was also great to hit my wife on the shins. The current boat has a traveller on the cabin top, and it was a “must have” requirement for this boat.
It is almost the same discussion as the wheel vs. tiller.
