Joe can you tell me if it is common practice to run hot coolant from the
engine straight into the hot water tank heat exchanger and from the there
into the engines heat exchanger. For some reason whoever set my system up
put a “t” in the engines hot coolant line before the engines heat exchanger
and ran one hose to the hot water heater and the other Hose of the “t” to
the engine’s heat exchanger. The exit hose from the hot water heater is
lead to a spigot in the Engines coolant tank. That setup does not provide
efficient hot water unless i use a flow control valve in the exit hose from
the engines heat exchanger.
