I installed an inboard track on Bell, my '75 model 25 mk1, more than 20 years ago. The tracks are straight lengths of T track about 9 feet long that run from about 2' behind the shrouds to a couple of feet aft of the cabin bulkhead. I installed Garhauer line adjustable genoa cars on the track, which is a big advantage for adjustability of the headsails in changing conditions, and for letting out the headsail when running off the wind in JAM races.
The track works fine for my #1 (155) and #3 (a 110% lapper). For the #4 blade and the storm sail, only used in much higher winds, I put a block on the toe rail quite a bit forward to open up the slot. I do not see any benefit to installing a curved track, since the position of the straight track puts the clew of the 155 at about 10 or 11 degrees off the boat centerline, as was suggested by the sailmaker. For installation, I positioned the aft end of the track in the position suggested by the sailmaker. That put the track over the flange of the cabin ceiling liner, so the backing plate and fasteners are hidden inside the cabin. Marked the positions of the holes in the track on the deck and drilled and filled the deck to seal the core, and then redrilled the holes for through bolts. The baking plates are 1/4" by 1 1/2" aluminum bar stock. Drilled matching holes in the backing plate using the T track as template. Had to cut the backing plates where the T track runs on top of a bulkhead in the cabin so it is not a continuous plate, but I've never noticed any weakness, nor have I ever detected a leak. I think I lost all of my photos of the installation in a hard drive crash, but I should be able to take a few new pictures if you want them.
