Same here. I would be intrigued as to the reasoning. I did a little googling and most of the advice against starting with the battery charger connected seemed to be grounded in misunderstandings about how electricity works. The best answer was that if you get in the habit of disconnecting your shore power cord, it minimizes the risk that you leave the dock with the cord still attached.
