I had this happen with my car. I try to sample the oil while hot and do so
with a suction tube and sample pump. The tube jammed as it was going down
in and when I tried to withdraw it I could feel slight resistance. Further
pulling resulted in a release but it was clear upon inspection that the
tube had been softened by the heat of the engine, ~200°F. Disappointing
since the tube was provided just for this purpose. In softening it
smooshed in the dipstick tube then stuck to the tube walls and jammed in
the curves. In my case it softened enough and I pulled hard enough that
the tube parted leaving some jammed in the dipstick tube. I removed the
dipstick tube and rammed the remaining piece out.
