If you look close and use your imagination, you can see what Gary is talking about. There is no extra border around the transducer. The paddle wheel goes right to the edge of the transducer. So, if there is any growth on the thruhull, it may interfere with the wheel's spinning. Would have been nice if the wheel had a 1/4 inch or so of space all around it that you could clean when you pull it. Dennis C.
