If you have a charger that senses the batteries' charge, you'll do no harm if you keep it on all the time. I keep my charger and refrigeration on all the time. The power for them are not routed through the master switch. The rest of the boat is powered off. I pay a fixed amount for electricity, regardless of how much, if any, I use.
