A plastic coffee can lid with a hole in the middle would work. FYI - you all do want to pay attention to these bearings. If they get sloppy a tremendous amount of strain gets transmitted to the lower parts of the assembly instead of the bearing.

I'll figure something out. I have a rubber washer on top of my hydraulic backstay adjuster to protect the top seal. Dennis C. Considered UHMW, but the Delrin was convenient. Regardless of the disc, I see having a sleeve bearing set in the disc that I can easily change as an advantage. Would be easier to swap the bearing than to refabricate the disc with the 6 bolt holes and the center hole each time. As I said at the end of my document, maybe a non-metal sleeve bearing. Just a "play" project for now. Dennis C. Delrin isn't all that good in UV exposure. I would suggest using bearing grade PEEK but that is a lot of overkill. You may gain some advantage by making a sunbrella cover for it (or just replace it every 7 years). _______________________________________________ Thanks everyone for supporting this list with your contributions.
