Shawn

Contact me off list if interested in B&G H1000 gear. I sold it cheap top a
friend and he never installed it. Was all working when we removed it from
Persistence.

The wiring looked to be complicated

Subject: Re: Stus-List Knot meter - worth replacing?

Thanks for all the info - the owner gave me all the gear today, and included an
Airmar box where one of the current transducers came from. I have the original
early 70s B&G gauges, plus a set of B&G H1000 stuff to be installed. I will try
to piece it together this week and come up with a plan. There is actually a
speed transducer installed, but I think it goes to the Hummingbird fish finder,
which works for depth, but I didn't notice a speed reading.

I'll bench test the H1000 gear before installing it - have windex, 2 displays,
and 3 interface boxes. It would be nice if I could get wind, speed and depth on
these and simplify things.

I got rid of my old B&G gear yhat came with my boat becsuse it was a PITA to
keep working. Not reliable at all and the touch switches repeatedly failed. No
easy way to get that gear working and i tried hard. I replaced theB&G gear
with Raymarine electronics and pray because Raymarine also has no reasonable
repair service either.

The 35-2 has an original (I think) B&G knot meter, but the paddle wheel has one
paddle broken off from a lifting strap. Apparently this old sender is no longer
available. Is it worth getting a replacement knot meter to get speed over
water? The boat also comes with a B&G H1000 windex and several extra display
units. Possibly I could find a knot meter sending unit to work with these?

Or should I knot bother and just settle for GPS speed?
