Richard, If you believe the claims the batteries will outlive all of us, but from what I have read overcharging them or letting them float at high voltage really shortens their life. There is lots of information about them on CruisersForum. Some of the writers even seem to know what they are talking about. I would do some serious research and make sure your system is properly spec'd before switching.
