Mark;

You might want to take a peek into Blount's Creek when you get to the area.

I just sent a boater off the Washington Docks to anchor up in the creek near
Cotton Patch Landing, and he told me that the anchorage near the mouth of
the creek, below the bridge, was entirely open about 6PM today.

The entrance into the creek is narrow and about 16' deep, with a 90 degree
corner into the creek and the anchorage. Once you make the corner into the
creek you should find about 19' with swing room for 3 or 4 boats, and that
part of the creek is almost completely surrounded by hills, trees, and
houses. So little or no wind and waves, just storm surge.

I agree with you about Broad Creek. I find the best spot to anchor is in the
corner across from the country club, tucked into the corner north of the
Plantation docks. Imzadi has rode out 4 storms in that area. But the whole
creek can become a bumper boat event when McCotters clears the boats off
their docks.

Good Luck.

Hey Jim,

Good to hear Edge #1 is ready as well!

I'm anchoring out in Blounts Bay. I suspect I'll be the only one there since
there isn't a lot of wind protection. Most boats in Broad Creek will anchor
100 yards from the docks in the creek. I did it once on the 35MkII and ended
up with a bent rudder. Not enough water in the creek when the wind shifts.
You also need to watch for boats that throw out a lunch hook.

Good luck to you, Rick, & Tex.

Mark
