I use the rubber cane (or chair) tips as well, but before installing them, I insert a fender washer of the same size. The fender washer protects the rudder from the sharp edges on the feet of the ladder. The rubber tips seem to last longer with the fender washer protection.

You might try that trick.

Subject: Stus-List Stern Ladder Hull Guard-Feet

Hello again,

are there any clever ways to protect the transom from the boarding
ladder feet? The cane tips I'm currenty using don't really last out in
the elements. And with a new paint job I'm looking for something better
to use.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks,

Danny
