I have a 1995 36XL with a centerboard so YMMV. My 1st pennant (wire) failed after about 15 years and destroyed the board when it let go. Since then, I replace it about every 5 years and I have stayed with wire on the yard's recommendation although I have considered using high tech line.
On my boat, the pennant pretty much has to be replaced with the boat on the hard so a new one is made and sized properly with the boat out of the water. Carrying a spare is not useful since if it lets go, replacing it is basically impossible in the water. Plus if it lets go in the up position (where else!), replacing the pennant will be a minor problem compared to getting the board (or what's left of it!) back up so you can get into a shallow water slip. No issues yet, but I understand they are easier to replace *before* they fail. I have the manuals but there are no drawings or data tables with mention of the details on the centerboard model. Previous owner supplied contact info for a shop that made the previous Technora replacement but he couldn't locate any records of the transaction. Any help is appreciated. -- Tim Rutherford C&C 36' Chamame' tim.rutherford.m...@gmail.com 813 748 4888 cel/text _______________________________________________ Thanks everyone for supporting this list with your contributions.
