Mike,

I coated the male and female sides of my RAM mike connection with TefGel at
installation.  No issues for years.

If it were me, I'd spray the connections liberally with Boeshield T-9
(which every boater should have on their boat 24/7), make the connection
several times, then coat with TefGel.
