All of my reefs and the outhaul are 5/16ths. Endura, V-100, and VPC. They are all perfectly and equally suited. Just beware of the clutches and self tailing winches when selecting a diameter. I spliced eyes in them and use a soft shackle to connect the around the boom. I provides a cleaner look than the typical bowline on a bite around the boom.
