The 29-2 I used to work on had a round water heater located to STBD and hear
the front of the Yanmar 2GMF15… basically under the sink. Access was pretty
good from the inside of the cabin.

Subject: Stus-List Larzarette Opening Modification on C&C 29 mk 2

Got a new water heater and noticed that both the new one west marine box and
the old one Raritan won't fit through the opening on the Lazarette. The opening
is a half inch too narrow (13.5). The opening glass though has plenty to spare,
so I'm thinking of just widening it up with a jigsaw or similar. The glass is
thick so it doesn't seem like it will cause an integrity issues. It's either
that or remove the engine (not happening. I could make the glass thicker in
those areas, but I don't think it's necessary. The raritan is actually 14" but
it's a cylinder whereas the West Marine is a rectangular box and is only 13.5
at the narrowest. I could minimize the damage by chopping up the Raritan, but
what a pain that would be.

Thoughts?
