It's where the paint is applied that counts, or at least that's my understanding. Non Canada approved paint cannot be applied to a boat in Canada regardless of where the boat is from. Suggest the OP calls the boat yard to check before making the effort to get to Sidney. ________________________________ From: CnC-List <cnc-list-boun...@cnc-list.com> on behalf of David Blair via CnC-List <cnc-list@cnc-list.com> Sent: April 6, 2018 1:21:58 PM To: cnc-list@cnc-list.com Cc: David Blair Subject: Re: Stus-List Sidney boat yard
I haven’t seen any Canadian authorities checking US boats in Canadian waters for the type of bottom paint they are using. Common sense says it should be a non-issue (but common sense doesn’t always apply, does it?). Westport are pretty proud of their eco credentials so may not have any leeway on this. Strictly speaking, even if you apply it yourself it still needs to be legal in Canada but it's very easy to accidentally tear the label or cover it in paint if you get my drift... ________________________________ From: CnC-List <cnc-list-boun...@cnc-list.com<mailto:cnc-list-boun...@cnc-list.com>> on behalf of Tom Buscaglia via CnC-List <cnc-list@cnc-list.com<mailto:cnc-list@cnc-list.com>> Sent: April 6, 2018 8:25:38 AM To: cnc-list@cnc-list.com<mailto:cnc-list@cnc-list.com> Cc: Tom Buscaglia Subject: Stus-List Sidney boat yard I was planning on bringing my own paint.
