My canvas from Genco is now 17 years old. The actual Sunbrella has held up well. I give it the treatment every year and it is as waterproof as ever and does not appear stiff or sun rotted. OTOH the threads that hold it together – not so much. My Bimini really needed some stitching to be useable and the staff at Bacon’s in Annapolis told me they are now doing canvas repair. They have my Bimini now and are charging $250 for a window replacement and total restitch. I’ll report back on how they do in case anyone else needs this service. I have found canvas repair not the easiest thing to arrange. Many local canvas shops really want to sell you a new whatever and make repairs their last priority. My other choice was driving to Toronto and giving it back to Genco so they can use the pattern for new canvas. I learned the hard way that shipping it instead of driving equals customs deciding it is a new product and trying to bill me BOTH WAYS ☹, so driving it would be.
