Lisle — my first sailboat was a C&C30mkI; the first time I stood at the helm, it felt like I was driving a battleship. But the 30mkI is one of the stiffest and most forgiving boats C&C ever built, and for me it made learning easy, fun, and most of all safe. So don’t worry about a somewhat larger boat; after a few years in a 25, you’ll most likely want a bigger boat anyway… :^)
