I took my new filler and empty CNG tank to the CNG fuel station at BWI. It did not start off well. The fill hose is very stiff, it is like fighting with a barely flexible pipe more than a hose. The filler kept blowing back off the tank and would NOT stay on. I was very frustrated when I noticed another pump had another kind of filler. Turns out the EBay adapter has the smaller high pressure fill adapter, you need to pick the right one. At least at BWI, the correct adapter is yellow. Well on to the right one and another issue arose – the pump is designed to fill cars and trucks, not little tanks. It can decide nothing is going on and shut back down if there isn’t sufficient flow. I cracked the valves and then turned the pump on. When I got to 2.000 PSI on the tank I decided not to push it and turned the valve off. My bill was * 94 CENTS* !!!!!!!!!! When I got back to the boat the tank had cooled off and I had 1500 PSI. Like a scuba tank, it really should be refilled in a tub of cool water. The heat of compression raises the tank pressure and then it goes back down. I may stick it in a cooler with some ice next time. Still, 1500 PSI for less than a dollar is GREAT and I can spend another dollar when it gets low. Joe Coquina C&C 35 MK I
