Andy, There must have been several interior layouts in the late 70’s. I sailed on a 1978 40’ (Zoomer) with a standard rig and keel and the galley was to starboard and Nav Station was on the port side. There were a plethora of winches however, both on the coach roof (fore and aft) and the cockpit. We had big 3 speed Lewmar primaries to handle a 150 % but boy did that boat go upwind with the big jib!
