My wheel is too big to store on the inside. It is a little nerve racking to hang the wheel on the outside... But I guess I've just gotten used to it. I used to tie the wheel with some rope just for extra security but I don't even do that any more. I do have a "spare" smaller wheel at home so I guess if something happened it wouldn't be too bad to just run home for the other wheel. Our local marina diver would be able to recover the big one pretty easily.
