Gary,

The Nexus Classic multicontrols are nearly impossible to find. I managed
to score one off eBay a few months ago.

I tried to get a Garmin GMI 20 to work with my Nexus classic server but was
not successful. One of the gurus at Garmin got them to talk and sent me
pictures. I tried and tried to duplicate his advice but just couldn't get
it.

Your best bet may be a multiplexer and a NMEA 0183 MFD (Garmin GMI 20 has
0183).

I have a Noland AM43 interfaced with my Nexus server and it seems to work
fine. I have viewed the 0183 data stream on a laptop and it looks OK.

You might also explore a new GPS with both 0183 and 2000 like the Garmin
547. Feed the GPS a 0183 stream through its 0183 port and attach a 2000
MFD to the GPS 2000 port. Not 100% sure that will work but an email from
Garmin indicates the two ports are independent.
