Hermione is definitely messing with us in eastern NC.

The 11 PM forecast last night had the track crossing over or slightly west of
Washington, NC; with 50 MPH winds and 5” of rain.

The 5 AM track had the storm coming out between Georgetown and Myrtle Beach, SC
and running up the coast. The 8 AM update moved the track a bit north so it
will basically be over Wilmington, NC at 1 AM on Saturday, track over the Outer
Banks, and come out around Cape Hatteras/Manteo area. More time over land, so
lower winds on the new track. But the projection keeps changing, but right now
they say 35 MPH winds with gusts to 50 and 6” of rain.

(BTW, Sunday 1AM forecast is for the center to be 100-200 miles off the
Delmarva Peninsula with max winds under 40 – under 30 to the NW and SW)

But they will update the forecast track again in a bit over an hour, so all
that may change again.

I’m leaving in a few minutes to take care of my 38, my 25, a friend’s 29-2, and
the 72 foot schooner I captain.

I'm supposed to be on a J30 Saturday. Current GFS forecast for Annapolis is
25-30 (down from 30-45). Sunday am looks wet.

Is Hermine messing with anyone’s Labor Day plans? My Friday-Monday trip looks
pretty doubtful right now unless I want to contend with a lot of rain and wind.
It changes constantly, but as of this morning it looks like I can go to Rock
Hall Friday night with light winds and get a strong northerly on the stern to
run home Saturday and beat the storm back home.
