Rewinding a generator is not rocket science. There are probably a number of shops where you are that can burn the old windings out and rewind the stator. Then they would either drip or vacuum impregnate the windings for insulation. Look for electric motor repair shops (after all a generator is simply a motor run backwards!). I could give you a couple of leads in the Chicago or Kalamazoo, Michigan area.
