I guess it depends on the kind of lines you're using on the sheets, their diameter, and perhaps how fresh they are.. I started doing the luggage tag when I bought new sheets last year. They are nothing exotic, 1/2" New England Ropes Sta Set. So far it's really easy to undo no matter how much tension they had to endure. What you're showing below looks interesting but also looks "snaggy" with 3 loops itchin' to catch the spin pole traveler..
As for switching sails during racing, when we get there I'll use another sheet on the second sail. The 2 sails use different sets of blocks anyway so with the 2nd sheet "Pre-Fed" on the appropriate blocks it's ready to roll immediately. To each his own, have fun.. Regards -Francois Rivard 1990 34+ "Take Five" Lake Lanier, GA My biggest issue with the luggage tag knot is the difficulty of getting them off. I ran across this technique which intrigues me. http://sailing.about.com/od/equipmentgear/ss/softshacklehowto.htm#step1 Also thinking about the soft shackles as well. Either way, I really hate running forward to clear a bowline off the shrouds during a tack, something will get done this spring.
