I try and keep Coquina smelling as nice as possible for an old boat. My mother
had a mold infestation and I bought her an industrial strength ozone generator
to get rid of it. It worked – mold is gone ☺
I got an idea and put it on the boat and set it for 2 hours. I opened all the
lockers so the ozone had free access to things like the head hoses. It worked
GREAT. As a matter of fact it worked so well I just about ozoned myself to
death the next day going below. You can get these generators on Amazon for
pretty cheap. When you read the label about not using it in an occupied area
they are not kidding!

The cushions on Suhana are all in good shape, but they're the old C&C
beige/brown
stripes.<http://sacsmarine.com/wp-content/uploads/545641_0_080620101113_2-500x375.jpg>

Those cushions are really well made and mine are in great shape. However, there
was definitely boat funk stunk right into them. We removed all the covers and
washed in the laundry with a bit of bleach then air dried. I also took the foam
home a few at a time and soaked them in a bleach solution (a few percent, not
too strong) in a kids wading pool out in the driveway. Those foam cushions sure
hold a lot of water! They took days or even weeks to dry but the stink is gone.
I like to think that the cushions are now "reconditioned". Just washing the
covers made a big difference.

Getting the buttons back in through the cushions is another project for another
time :)
