I had some barnacles on my hull this year.....on the advice of a C&C lister, I used muriatic acid......diluted the acid (approx. 33% from the retailer) 1 part acid to 5 parts water (down to say 6%).....put in a spray bottle and it pretty much dissolved the barnacles. Let the acid stand for about 10 minutes and rinsed with a hose......no damage to the antifouling paint.
