Hi Stu, and all list members, I am positively overwhelmed by the friendliness on this list. Since being a list newbie (with 35 years of sailing under my keel though) I stepped into hot water here asking why this wouldn't be organized differently, four list members took it upon themselves to explain me per private email in the most friendly way why the list is run how it is run.
Stu himself gave an excellent background how and why he is running it. Thank you all, and thank you especially, Stu. I appreciate that you all not simply bark but make me understand how things work here. Yes, the system is technically outdated and awkward, but there were several good points to keep it like this. I'll probably do all of us a favor not to repeat them yet again. One last thing though: Stu, would you consider putting up an Paypal button on the website to make donating as simple as milk? I also second the idea of a periodic fund drive. You do a really good job, Stu, and we all appreciate it. I think the idea of a periodic fund drive is quite good. If I may suggest something, I would say that another good idea would be to find someone who could step up, when Stu is no longer able to continue. From a simple IT perspective a backup plan would certainly help.
