Just curious about people’s opinions of various non-marine adhesive sealants that have come on the market in recent years. I’ve used this one to seal portlights in metal frames (not on a C&C) and a couple of deck fittings with great results.

This stuff forms a nice, pliable gasket and sticks like 4200. Better yet, it dries in 30 minutes, so you don’t have to deal with the uncertainty of taping a portlight or fitting and hoping it doesn’t shift. Based on Don Casey's article, the 3M VHB tape is for adhesion and the 795 DOW Corning silicone sealant is just for sealing. No? Has anyone tried that yet?
