Hi Rino I actually just did a full refit on a 1981 C&C 36. I purchased the boat after she sank in Bedford Basin (in Halifax)last fall.
The hull is cored and is cored under the waterline as well. It seems that C&C did this well as there has been no de lamination of the hull. As you can imagine most systems had to be replaced including electrical, plumbing and propane. I did plumb in a propane system however, primarily because the old system was scary with hose clamps and a number of T junctions. I had a hose company make new hoses and attach all fittings so they are properly done. This included a 40 foot hose to the forward bulkhead for a propane furnace. there is also HMP Marine in Ontario that sells a number of C&C original type parts. I documented the entire process with before and after pictures. One outcome is that I now know the entire boat and every aspect of each system.
