There are three screws holding the solar panel to the rest of the unit. It may take a bit of gentle persuasion to dismantle the panel/o-ring assembly because it's gooped in place with what appears to be silicone grease. This is a 6-year-old unit that I have, but I doubt they have changed it that much. You *have* to be able to change out the battery...
