Theme music from “Jaws”.

For those close quarters situations where a little intimidation might be called
for, especially with today’s light sporty boats I casually mention: “If you
stick your nose in there you will need a life raft before a protest flag”.

Last time I used this a Melges 32 tacked right in front of Calypso (24,000 lb.
displacement) close to a mark. Sailing shorthanded there was no way for me to
maneuver fast enough to avoid a collision where with a flick of the tiller the
Melges changed course and accelerated away.

How about music to play loud a start of race to intimidate opponents and those
on starboard tack?

There's no accounting for taste or mood. As a general rule I listen to
everything. In practice I primarily listen to old 60s reggae, ska, and rock n
roll (old and new). I have no more time or energy for 'easy listening' or
anything depressing (classical != easy listening). Happy music only please. Bob
Marley gets a lot of playtime both on and off the boat. Legend is the worst Bob
Marley album.

There is so much good music out there how can you settle on any one thing?
