To answer all of the questions at once: I replaced all the hatches on the boat with Lewmars. The new hatches all look great from underneath. I used clear Life Seal to bed it so there is no oozing grey goo. Apart from having to fill the old screw holes and drill new ones, it's a drop-in replacement with better functionality.
