I've also got a bunch of wires running through my pedestal guard - Ray E7
cable (the big one), NMEA 2000, autopilot, 12 volt.  It is MUCH easier if
you have a helper on one end to grab/guide the wires.  There is a small
bulkhead just behind the guard, so it is easy to put terminal strips there.


This may be obvious, but run a messenger line through and leave one for
future projects.
