Edd: I had the same problem with bilge pump float switches failing. It turned out to be the old un-tinned wire. Every time I replaced a switch, it would work for awhile until the un-tinned wires got corroded near the most recent splice. Since I changed out this wiring to good tinned wire, I haven't had a single problem and the Rule 1500 has been the same pump all along.
